Bānūžu lake is the lake of the flower in the Old Town County of Old Town, the largest in the Lode-Taurene lake group. Lake source, bottom granny, stone, places with large stones. Coast lenses, places floor. Through it flows Meļļupe to the lake of Ilse and further to Gauju. Along the northern coast goes the road Bānūži—Lodes manor. On the northwest corner of the lake Bānūža Velnakmens, half a kilometer west — Bānūža pilskalns. In the southwest — Jāņkalns (227 m).
